June 08 - Gloucester Music Forum
Gloucester
Music Forum is a group of organisations finding ways to work
together to help young musicians in Gloucestershire – particularly
those aged 14-25. It includes: the Guildhall Arts Centre, Wired
Records Community Interest Company, Gloucestershire Music (the
County Council’s Music Service for young people in schools),
University of Gloucestershire and Gloucestershire College.

June 08 - Subways Sellout Guildhall
The
Guildhall
in Gloucester has announced the first of their
Glastonbury warm up show. The Subways show on 26th June has sold
out, although rumor has it, some more tickets might have gone on
sale on the door.....better be quick though. Keep checking out www.the-fly.co.uk
for the announcement of further warm up shows at the Gloucester
venue.

last years legendary event, "Ferris Bullers Day Off, "12

Festival
In
June 2008, the Cheltenham Music Festival welcomes Meurig Bowen as
its new Director. Meurig continues the work of his distinguished
predecessors, Sir John Manduell, Michael Berkeley and Martyn
Brabbins, with a richly-layered programme of symphonic, choral,
vocal and chamber repertoire.

A
new music rehearsal and recording facility which has just been
completed by Forest of Dean Music Makers in a joint project with

Feb - 2000 Tree's Launch Night
2000
Tree's Festival are hosting a free launch party at the Frog and
Fiddle in Cheltenham on Saturday, March 1st which will include 5
live acts, cheap tickets, competitions and general larking about. It
also gives locals the chance to tell the organisers what they want
to see and hear at 2000 trees this year and in years to come.
The five live acts performing at the launch party will also be
performing at the festival on July 11th and 12th. Click

On Friday 16th and Saturday 17th
November, (Gloucester) Guildhall Radio will be broadcasting on 106.8
FM in a project which explores culture, the things they do to make a
difference, writers, musicians, the history of the Guildhall, what
goes on there, who works there, art / film/ the sound of the
building. Hear the sounds of Gloucester Carnival, selling the Big
Issue, the Wired bands benefit, live cabaret, the past, present,
future and Do Kerbs Trouble You? a disabled person’s view of the

Due to their singer contracting
laryngitis DSHS have had to cancel the remainder of their tour and
unfortunately that means the 2 Pigs tomorrow night. However, BOSSK,
By Vengeance I Remain and the Computers will still be playing, so
get yourselves down there.

- Watchers of the....well, urm, Rugby
As it seems England might finally be
good at something again, the start time of G2 Definitive Genesis gig
at the Guildhall this Saturday 13th October is being moved back to
approx 9.30pm to allow fans to watch England play France. In
addition, the Guildhall will be showing the game on giant screens
beforehand, starting at 8pm.

Hydraid is charity set up to help the
six counties affected by this summers flooding. The organisation
will be holding a 12 hour music spectacular at GL1 in Gloucester on
the 29th September as well as raising funds through releasing a CD.

lack of water, flooding and the rest of it. Just a quick note to say

are currently shut due to the lack of running water. If anyone from

Live Music There is a government move to make it very difficult for
musicians to perform live in small venues, or for schools, pubs and
charities to raise money for causes through musical events. The new
legislation will inhibit the central role music making has in our
